Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows flood the interiors with natural light, while custom arched French doors create a graceful transition between indoor living areas and the sweeping foothill views. Throughout the home, carefully crafted window walls, terrace doors, and balcony openings frame the landscape as living art, blending timeless design with seamless indoor-outdoor living.

The great room and adjoining dining wing are organized around expansive window walls and arched French doors that frame panoramic views of the foothills while bringing natural light deep into the interior. These glazed openings are carefully placed to maximize daylight and sightlines while protecting interior spaces from glare and seasonal heat gain.
The window and door palette—featuring finely crafted wood-framed French doors, oversized transoms, and custom arched assemblies—was selected to emphasize scale, rhythm, and harmony with the home’s traditional architectural language. Extending seamlessly from interior to exterior, these elements create layered thresholds that blur the line between indoors and out, enriching daily living with both visual connection and functional performance.
Materials
Stone, painted woodwork, and custom millwork establish the home’s timeless character, balanced by the clarity and precision of expansive glazed openings. Large arched French doors and window walls maximize light and frame views of the surrounding foothills, while durable exterior cladding materials ensure longevity against seasonal changes. The integration of glass and traditional finishes creates a layered material palette that emphasizes both permanence and transparency.

Weather Shield Windows and Patio Doors were selected for their craftsmanship, performance, and adaptability to architectural detailing. Featuring extruded aluminum cladding and a clear pine interior, these windows and doors provide both exterior durability and interior warmth. Functional innovations include the Heat Smart System One Low-E glass for optimized thermal performance, Mirage concealed sash locks on operable windows, and multipoint locking hardware on exterior patio doors. Arched assemblies were custom-specified, with patio doors quoted at 9’ in height to maintain proportional elegance within the home’s scale.
Key Finishes
The finish palette reflects a balance of tradition and modernity. Rustic Bronze hardware was chosen for sitting rooms and offices, offering a warm counterpoint to the painted wood interiors. Satin-etched glass was incorporated in select areas such as the master shower and mechanical spaces, providing privacy while maintaining natural light. The clear pine interiors add texture and softness, while the aluminum-clad exteriors ensure resilience and minimal maintenance. Collectively, these finishes reinforce the design intent: windows and doors as both aesthetic focal points and high-performance elements of the home.
